HEALTH AND SAFETY
Camper Health and Safety is our priority. We strive to ensure that all campers have a safe, fun, memorable camp experince! Below are just a few ways that we help to ensure campers are safe at camp.
STAFF TRAINING
Our camp staff go through two full weekends worth of training to ensure that they are prepared and equipped to offer Campers a safe, memorable summer. Training includes health and safety, emergency response, abuse prevention and protection training, and much more.
CAMP NURSE
We staff a Nurse each week of camp who is the sole person responsible for administering all medications to campers and the point person on medical emergencies. Our Camp Nurses are all registered nurses or are enrolled in a post-secondary Nursing Program.
PLAN TO PROTECT
Harbour RIidge is a member of Plan to Protect®. All Camp staff take abuse prevention and protection training. Their priority is abuse prevention and vulnerable sector protection. By equipping members with effective and customized policies, procedures, and training, they help make our community a safe one.
LIFEGUARDS
All of our water activates are supervised by certified lifeguards. On top of having lifeguards, we have a lightning detection system that alerts us of lightning strikes, giving us plenty of time to evacuate the water if needed.
